Instructions for use
1. Characteristics, composition and purpose of the medical device
1.1 Description and instructions for use
DAMUPROST suppositories are a medical device, used as a supplement in the local treatment of painful urogenital and anorectal diseases. Thanks to their local protective and lubricating effect in the anorectum, the suppositories can relieve pain in acute and chronic prostate diseases and are helpful in prostatitis. Thanks to their soothing effects, the suppositories are suitable for short-term use in constipation and hemorrhoidal congestion (accumulation of blood in the hemorrhoid).
1.2 Composition
One 2g DAMUPROST suppository contains:
- Lactoferrin
- Glycerophosphoinositol (GPI)
- Hyaluronic acid
2. Package size
The package contains 10 disposable suppositories in a blister pack.
3. Method of use and dosage
It is recommended to use 1 suppository per day, preferably in the evening before going to bed. For optimal effect, the suppository should be inserted deep into the rectal cavity.
4. Known side effects
No short-term, medium-term or long-term side effects are known. DAMUPROST does not adversely affect sensory abilities (level of attention, ability to drive and operate machinery). However, in the event of adverse effects such as excessive irritation, pain or any discomfort, stop using the suppositories immediately and consult your doctor.
5. Warnings and precautions
- The uneven dark color of the suppository is its characteristic feature and is not a sign of reduced effectiveness or poor storage.
- Keep DAMUPROST out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not use DAMUPROST after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister.
- DAMUPROST is not sterile; however, do not use suppositories if the primary packaging (blister) is damaged.
- Each suppository is intended for single use only, remove it from the packaging immediately before use: do not use suppositories that are damaged or have been removed from the blister earlier, as such suppositories may be contaminated.
- Do not attempt to reuse a suppository that was expelled on the first attempt.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
6. Interactions with drugs and other medical devices
DAMUPROST suppositories may shorten the transit time through the digestive tract, and therefore the absorption of concomitant oral medications. Therefore, it is recommended to wait at least 2 hours after taking oral medications before using DAMUPROST suppositories. Under no circumstances should DAMUPROST suppositories be used simultaneously with oral medications or other medical products. If you are taking any medications, consult your doctor before using DAMUPROST suppositories.
